Daewoo E&C wins $693million order in Iraq

Daewoo Engineering & Construction said Tuesday it has won a $693 million order to build a breakwater in southern Iraq.



Under a deal with the General Company for Ports of Iraq, Daewoo E&C will complete the 15.8-kilometer-long western breakwater for Al Faw Grand Port in Basra by 2016.

The latest deal came three months after the Korean builder won a $709 million order to build natural gas processing facilities in Iraq’s Akkas gas field.



Shares of Daewoo E&C closed up 1.33% to 8,380 won on the Seoul bourse.
